School Transport Manager

The school transport system aims to administer
the provision of transport to school and college of children who are the
responsibility of a local education authority. The system is set up to
administer:
• authorisation of transport awards
• allocation of children to routes
It is possible to record on the system multiple awards of transport per
child as a child may receive many awards over the years. The system can
record multiple routes per award.
The system aims to prove an easy to use storage place for data about LEA
transport. In doing this it provides a single source of management information
on the subject.
Data Stored
The system is able to store the following data:
• family address details and names of parents or guardians;
• child details (date of birth, special needs notes, care order
notes etc);
• children’s school histories (name of school, dates started
and left);
• histories of awards and transport allocated to a child;
• schools and types of school;
• categories of award (distance, special needs etc.);
• types of passes (free, half, student etc);
• types of transport (bus, train, taxi, etc.);
• transport contractors, routes and contracts awarded to contractors;
• details of escorts; cost codes and budgets.
Reports
The system provides several standard reports:
• Reports by school, route, and type of transport, showing the children
currently in receipt of transport who fall into these categories.
• A report providing details of all the children to be transported
by a Contractor
Archiving Data
The system allows you to archive Transport Awards and Child Details, thus
excluding the data from the main processing whilst still giving access
to it.
